The story of Jim and Christina's wedding begins deep in the Italian countryside. Jim proposed to Christina in Tuscany at an adorable country estate overlooking the sun-drenched vineyards and olive groves. The pair immediately toasted with a bottle of Prosecco—something that would become a recurring theme in their wedding planning. They toured the countryside, visiting wineries each day they were there. Every afternoon, they found a cafe to have an appetizer and a glass of their favorite bubbly beverage.
The styling of this wedding is the epitome of modern wedding fashion. The bride's Oscar de la Renta gown is elegant and sleek with a fun ruffled train detail to add a little drama. She paired it with satin sandals with a wider heel to keep from sinking in the grass at their outdoor ceremony (Pro Tip right there). Suits are becoming more and more popular with grooms as wedding ceremony attire, and we love that this groom decided to go all in on this trend and go with a blue Brooks Brothers suit to really set his look apart.
They took their love of Tuscany as inspiration and recreated the refined rustic vibe of wineries and cafes for their wedding. Brick archways covered in vines set the theme at the ceremony and reception. Jim and Christina also had a “wine ceremony” moment and toasted each other at the altar with their Prosecco. Guests were also greeted with a glass of Prosecco on their way to cocktail hour.
For destination weddings, you don't have to go over the top for the ceremony decor. The entire reason that you and your guests jet set across the world is to be in an already stunning destination! Carrie Darling Events kept the ceremony design chic and simple with minimalist all-white floral arrangements by Tom Trovato Florals on the floor lining the aisle and a simple brick archway framing the altar.
To guide everyone to their seats, a custom brick wall was built with seating assignments calligraphed on the bricks. Adding to the relaxed atmosphere, they set up several outdoor lounge areas to encourage their guests to chat, relax, and enjoy the music during the reception. The night ended with yummy treats from the gelato cart and dancing under the stars.
