Rustic Vintage Wedding at Thistle Springs Ranch
Erin and Christopher's wedding was held at Thistle Springs Ranch, a rustic venue in central Texas. The floral touches created by the bride and bridesmaids along with the furniture from Prairie Sage Vintage Rentals contributed to the casual vintage feel of the wedding. From the bride and groom:Above all, Erin and I wanted a wedding ceremony that would be honoring and glorifying to God. We wanted the entire afternoon/evening to feel like a bunch of friends coming together to be witnesses to the covenant Erin and I were making before God and to celebrate God's grace and design for marriage alongside us. We wanted our prelude ceremony music to be worshipful. We wanted our wedding to quantify Erin and I…Christ exalting. Laid back. Fun. Rustic. Vintage. Joyful.
On the venue: Thistle Springs Ranch was designed to have a true vintage provincial feel inside and out, but built with a great respect for the environment using green principles. With an antique windmill, historic dairy barn, roaming horses and serene lake, Thistle Springs is an ideal setting for a rustic or country-inspired event. The venue is flexible enough to host a Texas-sized wedding and reception while also being able to scale down for smaller, more intimate sized parties — making it perfect for any event!
We wanted a mix of tradition along with a lack of traditional elements as well. Casual yet formal. We wanted dinner to be unpretentious with fried chicken and buttermilk biscuits passed around like you would have done at Thanksgiving over at grandma's house.The family-style dinner, catered by Dad and Daughter's Divine Catering, and assortment of cakes and pies from Emporium Pies created a relaxed atmosphere. Using an assortment of china and flatwear dressed up the occasion while keeping the vintage vibe alive.
