We have a lot of very talented farm owners around us and we knew we wanted a wilder look for the flowers, so we went with Mad Crazy Flowers. The wrap around my bouquet was a handkerchief of my grandmother’s and the picture was of my uncle that passed away over a year ago. Each of the girls bouquets were wrapped in extra ribbon I had with a picture of us.
We used doors as an entrance to the aisle, which is something my husband really wanted. My other brother literally took these doors of the hinges of his house, I painted them and antiqued them, my dad built a frame and we had ourselves an entrance!
I had found these birdcages from a Christmas sale at Michaels, along with all of these other white animal figurines and my grandparent’s had a ton of antique books just sitting in their attic, so that along with the wooden flower boxes my dad made from old wood he had sitting out back, we had our centerpieces.
The navy and white chevron runners were made by my husband’s talented aunt, who sewed up a storm to make those for us and it really added some funk to the tables.
Catering can be extremely expensive, as you probably know, but I am lucky enough to have a chef for a husband and he took on the challenge of making and prepping all of the food at our wedding, down to the cakes and the BBQ sauce favors (another free wedding chicks tag). The dinosaurs used to label the desserts were just kid’s toys spray painted gold with a slit cut in the back for the card. If you didn’t recognize the label cards, those were a free printable from my favorite wedding site, Wedding Chicks! Find this free customizable invitation suite here!
