Rustic Never Looked so Glamorous at this Calamigos Ranch Wedding
When he wants rustic and she wants glam, what is a soon-to-be wed couple to do? Marry the two themes together in the holiest of wedding themed matrimony of course! Morgan and Kevin's gorgeous nuptials was an outdoor celebration that saw everyone dressed the nines. Rough cut stone steps lead up to a breath taking flower and tulle draped arbor for the happy couple to exchange vows under, and that was just the ceremony! Just wait until you see the reception... and their cake!

An Unlikely Match
From the Bride: I had never really envisioned my wedding prior to planning. All I knew is I wanted to get married in California!! We most cared about people having the very best time. But overall Our style vision was probably best described as "Rustic-chic". My husband grew up in a more rural area and I didn't so we wanted to incorporate a little of both sides into our big day. Our color palette vision was just more neutrals, sage greens and other softer colors.
Our flowers were gorgeous! We wanted blush colors some more of the greenery and Lotus and Lily did a brilliant job of capturing our vision. My gown I loved! It was a mermaid gown that combined lace with beading in a way I had never seen before. We decided to forego favors and instead make a donation to the American Cancer Society - something that has effected both of our families.
Take My Advice... Please!
This might sound silly, but I wish I had spent more time with my groom at our reception and cocktail hour! The day goes by so fast and there’s so many people to see but you can’t forget the day is about you and your new spouse, so make sure you take time to enjoy with one another!!Our biggest disaster was my own fault - I gave the incorrect address to our lovely hair and makeup team which delayed them unnecessarily the morning of the wedding! It left the hair and makeup team a little frazzled as we started the day, but they were such troopers and it all turned out better then we could have imagined. As the big day approaches, things get crazy and you (the bride) are constantly fielding questions from tons of different people - make sure you give each answer some thought to avoid a mistake like mine!
Name That Cake
My favorite unique element was our cake - we had every guests name written on it and it made it so unique and fun to watch guests realize it and then hunt for their names (we didn't tell anyone prior to the wedding that we were doing this). So thank you Joanie and Leigh for the brilliant idea!A more practical piece of advice - think about how you’re going to cut the cake! We hadn’t given it any thought and it was much harder than anticipated! I wish we’d asked someone the best way to cut the cake to preserve the top layer but also still get a slice to feed each other.
