From Megan Kelsey Photography: Kristen and Ryan had the sweetest summer wedding day in the countryside of Maryland. It was an emotional day from the moment Kristen read her letter from Ryan and opened his wedding day gift to her: a hand-carved wooden ring box holding a wedding band engraved with the saying, "I'll Eat You Up, I Love You So." As Kristen got ready in the estate, Ryan waited for her down by the pond where they met to share their tearful First Look.
This wedding was centered on rustic chic details. The bridesmaids wore blush floor-length gowns while the groomsmen donned navy blue suits with belts and shoes in shades of bronze. Kristen's gown was elegant and timeless with sheer beaded sleeves and back. It was so fitting for her graceful personality! At the handiwork of Local Color Flowers, every floral element at this wedding was sourced from local farms within 100 miles of Baltimore. Each bridesmaid carried a bouquet of wildflowers and dusty miller. The bride's bouquet was a colorful combination of daisies, lily of the valley, and succulents of varying shapes and color.
After half a decade together, this day was long-awaited and dripping with love. As Kristen and Ryan said their vows under the shade of the willow tree on the edge of the water, guests wiped their eyes and bowed their heads in prayer for a lifelong marriage full of joy and laughter. When Kristen placed Ryan's wedding band on his finger, little did he know that she had also had the inside of his band engraved with the words... "I'll Eat You Up, I Love You So." It was apparent that these two shared so much more than just romance... they are each other's best friend.
The rustic wildflower theme was carried throughout the reception, with each guest taking home a succulent of their own as a gift from the bride and groom. To add their own personal touch to their already stunning venue, Kristen and Ryan incorporated signage at both the ceremony and reception sites, as well as a photo booth with props for guests to capture their own memories.
Perhaps the most popular element in the barn was the sweets table where dozens of cake pops, macarons, cupcakes, and mini-deserts were on display on the tabletop of a farm table above a banner that read "Love Is Sweet." Kristen and Ryan's love is sweet, indeed.
