More and more industrial spaces are being repurposed into awesome venues and we're all about it! With sky-high ceilings, exposed brick and beams, and the occasional waterfront view, what's not to like? And, just because your venue is industrial at its heart doesn't mean your wedding has to be, take this one for example. Soft blush, crystal chandeliers, and delicate gold accents add a sweet edge to this wedding at this unique venue in Richmond, VA.
Don Mears Photography beautifully captured this special day at The Foundry and Yeattes Productions was there to film all of these once-in-a-lifetime moments. Kaitlyn and Tyler wanted a wedding that was modern and romantic in the same sentiment. Picking The Foundry, one of the first industrial loft event spaces in Richmond, Virginia, recommended by their planner, Colleen Cook at CCS Events, started their quest for that romantic meets contemporary vibe.
Kaitlyn's dream dress from Kleinfeld's and having her mother be also her Matron of Honor started the planning off on a high note. Kaitlin and her entourage started the day at her parents' house, getting ready before having their first look on the Potter's Bridge. After the tears were shed seeing each other, they focused on checking all of the important family photos off the list so that they could enjoy their cocktail hour with their guests. Specialty drinks of black lemonade and champagne on tap greeted guests.
For the tabletop design, DC Rentals provided the perfect king's table and chairs but the show-stoppers were the vintage pews and lounge set from Something Vintage in DC. Minted provided the sleek black-on-black invitations and acrylic black lettering from Etsy for the place cards. The Lighting and Sound Co hung black and crystal chandeliers and uplighting made the brick glow around the room. Tommy's Garden provided the contemporary meets romantic vibe with Phalaenopsis orchids and David Austin roses.
After the couple had their grand reveal of the reception room, guests were treated to a southern-style plated meal. Kaitlin and Tyler selected a menu that consisted of short ribs from the nationally-known Mosaic Catering and Events. The fun with cuisine did not stop there with a non-traditional Gelati Celesti as the dessert and late-night snacks from local favorite, City Dogs, where they bonded on one of their first dates.
After toasts, the dance floor was packed for the epic dance party that ensued with special surprise light-up wands so everyone could air drum to their favorite songs. Kaitlin and Tyler shared a private last dance as the guests waved sparklers for their exit. The best piece of advice from planner, Colleen Cook, from CCS Events is to TRUST the process and try not to overthink things too much. Remember, planning a wedding should be fun!
The budget for this wedding was $55,000. Please note that prices do change, and this budget breakdown gives you an idea of how much a wedding like this might cost you.
