Powel Crosley Estate

Taylor and her ladies got ready at a historic home that once belonged to one of the Ringling Brothers, of circus fame. The site of their wedding was the historic Powel Crosley Estate, a Mediterranean Revival-style mansion built in 1929 for Powel Crosley’s wife overlooking the waters of Sarasota.

Accept Help

I wouldn't have stressed over some of the little details, which the guests didn't notice, like the perfect shade of sparkle tablecloth which I had ordered from China. Sure, I noticed, but I'm sure no one else did! My advice: if people offer to help, take them up on it. My cousin mentioned helping in passing a couple times before I took her up on her offer. She was a big help and super excited for me!

Katana Cake Cutting

The wedding was so tailored to Taylor and Josh as a couple. They infused so much of their Japanese courtship into the day; they had little figurines displayed by the dessert table that were dressed in kimonos, they had a gold deer by the refreshment cart to represent their favorite Japanese activity: feeding the deer at Nara Park, and they even cut the cake with a katana!

We both lived in Japan, and met on a white water rafting trip in the middle of nowhere. We just hit it off, and a week later, we went on our first date. We lived 6 hours from each other, and we literally only had 2 hours between the train there and the train I had to catch back home. It was adorable and romantic, and in the train station, right when I was about to leave, he kissed me :)

We both flew home at Christmas, and I popped down to Florida to meet his parents. They made up this great big lie that his dad had won tickets on the radio to see some illuminations in the city, and we were going to come back for dinner. In reality, it was all a big plan. Underneath the arbor, he got down on one knee. He will say I said "Yes!" before he even asked! I was doubly lucky because he had it filmed - and I cry each and every time I watch it
