Where better to celebrate your wedding than an airplane hanger? Especially if you have over 200+ wedding guests like Austin and Hilary did at there Gainseville, Atlanta wedding. With over a year and half to plan, these two University of Florida alumni created a timeless, neutral-toned affair with an abundance of candles and hydrangeas everywhere.
There is so much more of Austin and Hilary's romantic and timeless wedding in the full gallery here. All beautifully captured by Julie Cate Photography.
From The Bride:Austin and I first met the summer prior to our senior year at the University of Florida (go gators!) and had the best time together naively enjoying the bubble that was college and life without "real" adult responsibilities. It was one of the most fun times because everyday was a new adventure and Florida supplied a wonderful playground for summer entertainment. Fast forward three years and we had adopted two dogs, moved to Atlanta and were engaged with Austin in law school.
Having the wedding at The Thomas Center, an airplane hanger:Creating an intimate and warm space from a huge airplane hangar was no picnic but thankfully the design team were up for the challenge. They designed a ceiling drape system that brought the focal point to the dance floor with three chandeliers and I picked varying champagne and ivory textured linens to add warmth. I cannot say enough about the incredible vendors that gave up many hours of sleep to make our wedding happen, they made planning a wedding from far away a breeze.
Some of the little details that we loved: the private jets that surrounded the tarmac and provided endless photo ops, the venison summer sausage bites at cocktail hour courtesy of the grooms family and South Carolina hunting camp, the custom stadium cups that were used for mixed drinks and beer, the beer selection itself because we served Atlanta based Sweetwater, Gainesville based Swamphead and fan favorite Abita, the rosaries on my bouquet that were from each of my grandmothers.
The Mexican Coca-Cola products served as the guest take-aways with xoxo labels attached to them, make simple yet oh so stylish wedding favors. We guarantee everyone will enjoy sipping on them! As you will see as you scroll down, the '74 MGB convertible that they drove off in was rebuilt by Austin and his father.
