Home is where the heart is, but for this lovely couple it is also where the family is. With two large families that they are very close to Paige and Joe needed to find the perfect location to house everyone and still give them the beautiful backdrop they craved for their Retro Modern Chic wedding in Pennsylvania.
This beautiful day at Brookmere Winery and Vineyard Inn was captured in these lovely photos from Amanda Nichols Photography. You can see even more of them when you visit the full gallery here!
From KP Photography-KP Films: We find ourselves at a quiet little winery located in Central PA with our newlyweds, Paige and Joe. The outside beauty of their love is only matched by the kindness and warmth of the love they have for each other inside; and it definitely showed throughout the day. You could tell every time they looked at each other's eyes how perfect they are for each other. We are so happy to bring you the love story of their special day.
From the bride: One of the things the attracted me to Joe was the love and closeness he had for his family. I come from a family of 6 children and it was important for both of us that our wedding be a family affair. We searched for a wedding venue that would bring us all together.
The Brookmere Winery is unique in that it houses an Inn on the grounds. James Alexander built the southern style mansion type farmhouse in 1866 for a wedding present to his bride, We stayed there as a family the entire weekend to decorate, have wedding day brunch and ultimately my groom and I shared the bridal suite on our wedding night.
A special keepsake from the ceremony was the 'frit" (the mixture of silica and fluxes that is fused at high temperature to make glass) we poured during the unity ceremony. It was our two favorite colors joined together. After the ceremony we sent them away to be fired into a gorgeous vase.
My father made our ceremony arch we said our vows under, my grandfather made our bench the guests signed, My grandmother made the robes my bridesmaids wore as we were getting ready and my new in-laws refurbished a rusty bike Joe found in the junkyard. It was perfect to house our cards that our guests gave us.
I had a hard time finding table numbers I liked so I bought mismatched photo frames that my sisters sprayed with chalkboard paint and I had a local calligrapher paint on the numbers. They turned out perfect.
