From Julie Shuford Photography: When they found Casa Cody in Palm Springs they immediately fell in love with the venue. They were able to rent the entire venue for the weekend so everyone could be together. Lay by the pool during the day and celebrate at night. Greg's best friend, Juan, married them. Paula and Greg wrote the entire ceremony themselves and sent it to Juan in advance so he could add his special touch since he knows them so well. They decided to write their vows to each other ahead of time so that they wouldn't completely lose it during the ceremony.
They walked down the aisle together at their ceremony and Greg’s son stood up there with them during the ceremony. Everything about the weekend was warm (the temp as well as emotional) and all about togetherness.
The reception decor was so effortless looking and yet gorgeous. It went perfectly with the surroundings at Casa Cody. The bride’s mom loves putting together florals and bought the flowers at wholesale. They picked things that wouldn't wilt, loaded them into home depot buckets and stuck them in the fridge once they arrived. Casa Cody is so beautiful they really didn't need much. The bride’s mom, sister, and mom's best friend from high school made an incredible dessert table that included mini desserts and three different cakes.
From the bride: No disasters but things go differently than planned. You just have to roll with it. It was hot as hell, my hair wasn't perfect, and my dress got incredibly dirty before the ceremony when we took pictures out in the desert. But it all didn't matter once we walked down the aisle to get married. Plus, our photographer did such a great job making us look good despite the heat and dirt.
