Relaxed feel? Check. Rugged mountain views? Double check. Shannon + Brads wedding at the Wind Mountain Ranch in Oregon is everything we love about outdoor weddings. The fresh look and feel of the their decor featured loads of greenery throughout, soft shades of blush + gold and local favorites including a Voodoo Donuts truck.
All the details came together beautifully to create a cohesive, natural style that is elegant yet very laid back. Want to see more details? Grab a closer look at all the beautiful images captured by Olivia Leigh Photography in the full gallery here.
From the bride: Because I am an Event Planner for a living the wedding planning process was a bit of a whirlwind. We looked at over 30 venues before we found the one. We absolutely fell in love with Oregon when we moved here together and knew that we wanted to show off the beauty that is the Pacific Northwest to our guests. When we went to view Wind Mountain Ranch for the first time (after looking at almost every available option) we took one look at each other and knew we had to have it there! We really wanted to let the beauty of the venue and the Columbia River Gorge mountainous backdrop carry our day, which it absolutely did.
The wedding day weather was the one thing we worried about with having an outdoor wedding in the Northwest, but we crossed our fingers and got lucky- it ended up being the perfect Oregon summer day. The ambiance was relaxed and fun, highlighted by lawn games and impromptu karaoke and group dancing. We carried the outdoor theme throughout the wedding by using lots of greenery and wood. We picked blush and gold with pops of orange as our colors to keep with the whimsical romance we felt in that setting. We tried to tie in Oregon favorites like Voodoo Doughnuts, farm to table catering, and local provisions.
In the end, the highlight of our day was being able to let loose and enjoy the beautiful venue and atmosphere with our closest friends and family. We look back on the day with such fondness! My advice to any future brides would be to try not to overthink and sweat the small stuff. Everyone you ask (and some that you don’t) will have all sorts of advice about how to plan your wedding day. Do what feels right to you! The day goes by in what feels like 5 minutes, so enjoy it!
