From Signature: Jessica dreamt of a very glamorous destination wedding and we wanted to include her love for fashion and old Hollywood style decor. Red is a big favorite for Jessica and we added some neutral shades of nudes, olive green, light grey, and a touch of shimmer. Jessica wanted her bridesmaids to feel beautiful and sexy. The Monique Lhuillier dresses were amazing and the girls looked awesome indeed.
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons fresh blackberries, 2 tablespoons fresh raspberries, 6 mint leaves, 2 teaspoons Truvia sweetener, 2 large lime wedges, 4 ounces rum & Seltzer water Directions:
Take two short cocktail glasses and fill with equal parts blackberries, raspberries, mint leaves and Truvia. Squeeze lime wedges into the glass and pour in rum. Muddle the mixture together breaking up the berries and bruising the mint. Add in ice and top with seltzer. Gently stir to combine.
From the Bride: The flowers, by Natural Pina, were in all of these various rich and deep shades of red set against the soft greens of succulents. All of the arrangements had so much texture to them. Also, the gold-tipped feathers that we placed in all of the napkins as part of the place settings. I love feathers, and they're so lightweight I knew people could take them home with them as a memento.
Margarita Ingredients:
4 ounces tequila, 2 ounces fresh lime juice, 1 ounce agave syrup, 1 ounce fresh orange juice, 1 cucumber, sliced into thick coins & 1 small jalapeno, thinly sliced Sweet Chili Rim Salt Ingredients:
1 tablespoon chili powder, 1 tablespoon (coarse) kosher salt & 1 tablespoon sugar Margarita Directions:
Add tequila, lime juice, agave, orange juice, and cucumber to a blender. Pulse for 1 minute, or until the mixture is smooth. Strain out the liquid into a cocktail shaker. Add the jalapeno slices, and muddle until the margarita has your desired level of heat. Add a handful of ice, and shake the mixture vigorously for a few seconds so that it is chilled. Then immediately strain it over ice into salt rimmed serving glasses.
Sweet Chili Rim Salt Directions:
Whisk all ingredients together in a small bowl until combined. Run a lime wedge around the edge of your serving glass, then dip it into the salt until the rim is coated. Repeat with remaining glasses.
Be patient. Planning from afar doesn't allow for much instant gratification when making decisions about locations, decor, etc. and requires placing a lot of trust in the visions of your wedding "team." If you can afford it, investing in a wedding planner (or planners) is truly the best wedding gift you can give to yourself.
