So there are weddings that are held at your family home and then there are weddings that are held on your family's land and in the historic stone church that also happens to be on said land...and this royal-adjacent wedding is the latter. And while this "home wedding" is over-the-top glamourous, we love that it truly was all about family when all was said and done. The bride looked every bit the princess in her A-line crepe and tulle gown with romantic blousy sleeves and the groom, a real-life Prince Charming in his morning suit.
You'll never believe it but the MOB planned the entire wedding! We seriously can't get over how stunning their "family church" is and we hope to see a lot more weddings there in future Wedding Chicks posts. And we don't know about you, but it's the red carpet aisle for us. Carrying over the vibrant color palette into their tented reception, florist Vincent and Stubbs used red, pink, and fuchsia roses and a whole lot of greenery to really bring the space to life. Becky Tranter Photography took these stunning photos that capture all the love from that beautiful day. How To Have Your Own Royal Wedding
Naomi Biden’s Big White [House] Wedding
The couple met in 2016 and they got engaged in 2021 and planned their wedding in just under a year. Lycia’s mum’s incredible planning skills and love for her daughter to have her perfect day meant she was happy to take on the main role of wedding planner.
Lycia and Dave hosted the perfect blend of modern-day chic with their styling, morning suits for the men, all-white dresses for the bridesmaids, and matching accessories which were all presents given the morning of the wedding day. Lycia's Pronovias Dress was the perfect silhouette–clean lines and shoulder details that made for an editorial vibe. She opted for a skirt over her dress to be able to do a dress reveal for the wedding breakfast entrance, complete with her pearl Sacaria Jimmy Choos.
Lycia and Dave's wedding took place on her family's farmland, with Lycia's childhood home being part of the aesthetic and the land hosting a perfect backdrop for golden hour to grace us. Lycia always knew she wanted to get married following her sister’s footsteps, she also wanted a more personal feel for the ceremony so their ceremony took place in the family church. Lycia’s arrival to their church was on one of the family's vintage tractor that was then fitted with a Fortnum and Mason hamper for their journey to their reception.
Their cocktail hour took place on the family's lawn with live music from The Collective Band and a cocktail bar set up for all to enjoy. This gave their day such an intimate atmosphere. Lycia knew she wanted a two-tiered marquee to ensure it was unique to what she knew her guest would have experienced before. Her vision for the decor was elegance and vibrancy this was achieved with endless florals, candles, and a hanging installation that wowed the room. Flowers were also hung on a wall to soften and add elegance for group shots. With no restrictions in place for the venue, Lycia and Dave wanted to not only enter to music but had placed bottles of champagne on each table with clear instructions to pop the corks as they entered, ensuring they were giving their guests memorable moments as well as making their own. Following the wedding breakfast, everyone was able to make their way up to the second floor of the marquee and start the evening off with their first dance and a night of entertainment by The Collective Band, whose interactive style meant the whole wedding party was involved. Family is big for both the bride and groom, so they opted for speeches by those who knew them best and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house when Lycia’s pops stood up and said his heartfelt words about his beloved granddaughter.
Steering away from a traditional wedding venue meant they were able to really harness their wedding truths, bring to life their vision, and work with their photographer to plan out a timeline that blended with the day and ensured they were able to experience it in a way that flowed and allowed them to breathe in the moments they wanted to freeze for a lifetime. Their advice to any other couple is to hold on to your wedding dreams even if this means breaking free of tradition.
