Our next wedding couldn't have been more home grown. Both families came together to create all the homemade touches that you see throughout the day, to ensure that the couple had their dream wedding.
Kyndall, the bride dreamed of an outdoor wedding, specifically, a barn wedding. So, Oak Hill Farms was the perfect venue. Complete with the most adorable little red barn to cure Kyndall's wish list! Delve deeper into all the DIY decor from this red barn wedding with fresh white details in the full gallery here. All photographed by Katie Parra.
Most of the wedding decor included in our wedding were Pinterest inspired DIYs! My mom and little sister were both a HUGE help to me in all the decor that was made for the wedding. Instead of using programs, we had two chalkboards on easels; one with the list of our bridal party on it, and the other, the order of our ceremony. My sister, Abby, was responsible for writing out all the information included on the chalkboards.
Another DIY project was the signs used to direct people to the venue, and up the driveway. Andy took wooden pallets, and arranged them into cute little signs to stick in the ground. Abby, my sister, was in charge of writing on them, and then my mom added a mint bow to each one.
My mom took charge of putting together the boutonnieres for the groomsmen. They were simple, but precious! They were just a little sprig of baby's breath with twine wrapped around them, with a small twine bow in the middle.
If I could re-do anything about our wedding, it would have been to have two dresses. Although the weather wasn't terribly hot outside, the inside of the barn, where the dance floor was, was super toasty! Being that my dress was made of taffeta, I frequently had to take breaks from dancing to grab a drink of water and cool off. A short, little white dress would have been ideal to change into for the reception so that I could have danced the night away more comfortably!
