Most couples pick their wedding day a year or more in advance. There is really no way of knowing exactly what the weather will be like on the day of, all you can do is hope for the best, especially if you're planning on an outdoor wedding. If you're scared to commit to a date, you can always look to the farmer's almanac to see what the weather is like on that specific day on average. This isn't a guarantee, but it can help give you some peace of mind while you wait it out. Even if it looks like the weather is going to hold out for your big day, it is always a good idea to come up with a plan B with your wedding planner. Thankfully that's exactly what this couple did, so when the rain clouds rolled in, they were ready for them.
The overcast sky and mist ended up adding to the ambiance and made for some pretty stunning photos that Stephanie Klotz was right there to capture. Storrier Stearns Japanese Garden was the perfect venue for this outdoor fall wedding. You can see all the images in the full gallery. Dmytryk and Savannah were married in Storrier Stearns Japanese Garden, a small venue tucked in Pasadena's residential area. December in Southern California can be a toss-up, and you never know when it's going to suddenly decide to rain. The bride was pretty disappointed to see rain clouds on the morning of her wedding day, but knew it was nothing a few canopies couldn't fix!
The groom prepared himself at the venue, while his groomsmen dutifully gathered a few of his finishing details. They rented a classic car for the bride and groom's getaway. Many of the other vendors on site, were friends of the bride and groom like myself. Nicole Campos did the florals, and Lianna Darcy made the wedding cake. The bride wore a BHLDN gown that had been altered by a tailor to include pearl beading all throughout. Such a delightful touch!
The couple exchanged vows in a beautiful ceremony featuring a feet washing event. Tears appeared in the eyes of all, including myself! The newlyweds enjoyed cake and dancing in a brightly colored tent. And then disappeared into the night in their getaway vehicle! Congrats, Savannah and Dmytryk!
