a playful proposal
The couple got engaged in May 2022 at their apartment in Hoboken, New Jersey. In an intimate setting on a rainy Friday afternoon, Nicholas gave their cherished dog, Didi, a toy ring box to play with. Once Cassandra noticed what was occupying their pup, she turned around to find him on one knee.
a tuscan escape
The couple wanted every moment of the weekend-long celebration to feel like a luxurious Tuscan escape for their guests. Villa La Massa provided the perfect setting with their five-star service, proximity to the Florence City Center, and picturesque placement along the Arno River.
the welcome bag
Silly but small details filled the three days of celebration: a cardboard cutout of their dog and her favorite toy, the bride's favorite sports drink, and a hand-drawn postcard by her aunt in the welcome bags, and custom olive oil bowls as party favors detailed with the wedding date.
the fashion
The bride purchased the first dress she tried on at Kyha Studios in New York City. She paired it with Manolo Blahnik shoes, Cartier jewelry, and custom-made diamond studs. The Groom wore a custom midnight blue tuxedo from Roaring Fashions in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. The Best Man opted for a traditional tuxedo from BOSS.
boozy escort cards and expert pairings
Glasses of aperol spritz greeted each guest with their name card. Wine was meticulously paired by Villa La Massa for each dish–including courses of cacio e pepe, vegetable risotto, and Florentine Bistecca.
the color palette: pink, blue, and white
The couple trusted their planner entirely to design florals and decor. Cuckie, of Gather Events, matched pink, blue, and white florals from the color palette to create the breathtaking arrangements with Stiatti Flori. Intimate string lights overlooked two long tables for dinner set on the lawn between the thirteenth-century Renaissance villas.
two desserts are better than one
Villa La Massa's Executive Chef crafted a lemon cheesecake dessert for each guest, as well as a traditional Italian millefoglie for the cake-cutting ceremony under the Tuscan night sky.
all about family
The groom's father and family immigrated to the United States from southern Italy fifty-five years to the day of the wedding celebration. The couple made sure to include as many details as possible to honor his journey–including photos of their travels from 1969 and the family crest.
