Classic Chic Blush & Ivory Maine Coast Wedding at Private Home
This next wedding is filled with soft and sweet details that are the absolute definition of classically chic! Held at a private residence in the gorgeous state of Maine, James and Lauren's preppy blush and ivory wedding is one we cannot recommend enough for anyone looking for classic wedding ideas.
Sweet little flower girls, an adorable tiny chapel wedding ceremony and a tent reception on the coast are just a few things that await you. There are even more fabulous images for you to fall in love with in the full gallery too thanks to the talents of Stephanie A Smith!
Can't Get Enough Of That East Coast
From Stephanie A Smith: While they both reside out on the West Coast, Lauren was born and raised in Southern New Jersey and James was born in Chicago and raised in Southern California. When choosing a location they wanted a place that could hold all of their friends and also pay tribute to their families which mean so much to them. Lauren was so thankful and surprised when her aunt and uncle, owner of Merriam Vineyards in Healdsburg, offered their summer home in Cape Neddick Maine as their wedding venue. It was a picturesque location with the Sperry tent and stunning manicured lawn overlooking the rocky coast of Maine.
blushing bridesmaids & classic cars
I adored the bridesmaids dresses. The color was the perfect summer palette. And Lauren and Jim's getaway car had an old classic feel to it. It was one of Lauren's uncles vintage collectibles that he let them drive away from the ceremony in.
Don't Stress & Be Kind To Your Feet
From the Bride: While wedding planning it's easy to get wrapped up in all of the stress and it's even easier to loose track of "why" behind it all. I encourage all future brides to take it all in and enjoy the ride! Also, don't forget to WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES on the big day!
Private Venue Pros & Cons
Since we held our reception outdoors at a private residence as opposed to a location specializing in weddings, we had to bring everything in including the furniture, serving ware, bathrooms, etc. The most expensive items included the tent/flooring, catering and furniture.
The band was also something we splurged on but they were incredible. In my opinion, creating an amazing atmosphere and entertaining your guests are the most important aspects to focus on.
