This couple described their wedding as "antler chic" and we think you'll see why! They met during a deer management assignment on the ranch, and they knew they wanted their wedding to have as much deer and outdoor themed
items in it as possible. Mission accomplished!
A color palette of blush pink, candy pink and ivory with a hint of turquoise brought a warm and cheerful tone to the day to complement their simple vintage country feel. Don't skimp on seeing the details! Find them all in the full gallery, photographed by Eureka Photography.
The signs that were around the venue – my mom’s life-long friend Charolotte Herman just stepped in and started making them! Such an added bonus! Antlers – all of the deer/elk antlers that were at the wedding (at the reception/ceremony site…including the mount on the cake wall, which my mom painted all white) were all sheds that John and I found around the Ranch where John and I met and fell in love (and where we currently still work at). Shed hunting is sort of a fun hobby that John and I share (along with our fur baby, Ellie), along with our passion for deer hunting and wildlife in general.
The Dove release was our “unity” session in the ceremony. Doves mate for life, they symbolize love, hope, peace and new beginnings. It was a very unique part to the ceremony and many people commented to us how they loved that part of the wedding. As our officiant (my cousin) spoke of how these two dove were symbolic of our new journey in life together, we released them and they flew off together, in harmony and headed for their home. Our officiant spoke of how John and I’s journey would take many paths along the way, like the birds headed off together, we would also find our way as a pair.
My mom found an old chandelier, refurbished it and added a ton of her own personal touches to it and hung on the arch. My dad and his brothers/friends helped put all of the antlers in place (which I was super impressed with the outcome because honestly, it made me nervous that they were taking on this task!) We both totally loved it!! So many people had a part in making our Arch so incredibly beautiful! Then, Petal Pushers added the pop of color that just completed it! Really special when we look at it and know that there was a lot of hours put into designing and decorating the Arch that we will forever have in our backyard!
Funny planning moments: Finding our photographer – found on Pinterest because of a photo she took of a bride feeding a deer! Loved that pic and knew she was the photographer I wanted! Turned out to be the BEST, sweetest choice I could have ever made in the way of photographers! Eureka Photography is absolutely AMAZING! I also bought my wedding boots before even shopping for “The Dress” – had to match my dress to the boots instead of the other way around and that’s not as easy as you would think!
