their love story
Hannah, a third-grade teacher, wanted to experience something different one summer, so she Google searched “Christian Summer Camps” and came across Kanakuk Kamps online. Little did she know that her desire to teach kids would lead her straight to Paul who was also working at camp! While the two were initially convinced that they were just “best friends,” Hannah and Paul eventually realized what all of their friends and family had already known for a long time: they were perfect for each other! They enjoyed their first date together at Hannah’s Papaw’s wedding. Thus a beautiful partnership began. Although navigating the challenges of living in two different cities wasn’t always easy, Hannah and Paul experienced many sweet adventures together as they met for various functions across the United States. On a warm and sunny South Carolina afternoon, Paul invited Hannah to get gelato in beautiful downtown Florence, South Carolina. She was thrilled to see him, but Hannah wondered if Paul was feeling okay because he couldn’t seem to eat any of his dessert. After working through his nerves, Paul suggested that the two of them take a walk to the Francis Marion University Performing Arts Center, and it was here that Paul got down on one knee and asked Hannah to marry him.
the vibe: pink and orange disco daydream
Full-service wedding planning and design firm One Foxy Affair worked with the couple to bring their Missouri destination wedding at Seven T Farms to life. Hannah and Paul's color palette was reflective of the vibrant love they have for one another. Their wedding featured bright pink, orange, and yellow colors throughout the design. Creative Director Laurel Fox explained, "Hannah and Paul are a fun-loving, active couple with a passion for living life to the fullest. It only made sense that we would capture the essence of their relationship with fun elements like disco balls, lush florals, and a killer DJ set up for the ultimate dance party! Nearly every aspect of the couple's wedding day was fabricated just for them–from the candles and place cards to their magazine program and guest welcome photo-op. Hannah loves disco balls, so we incorporated pink and silver disco balls everywhere we could–including the floral ceiling installation!"
the fashion
For her wedding gown, Hannah wore the Jenny by Jenny Yoo from Anthropologie Weddings (BHLDN). The stunning wedding gown was a vision of femininity, blooming with an allover floral-lace pattern, a boned corset bodice, strapless styling, removable button-on sleeves, and a cascading skirt with a cathedral train. Hannah's bridesmaids were fitted in Revelry gowns that matched the vibrant color scheme: pink, orange, and yellow. Paul wore a custom bowtie made from the sleeve of Hannah's wedding dress created by St. Louis seamstress, Sew Susie. Later in the evening, the entire bridal party changed into athletic clothes, and Hannah and Paul put on their matching Veja Sneakers. The party energy never stopped!
the flowers
Hannah and Paul's wedding showcased stunning, realistic silk florals arranged by Faith's Florals. Table arrangements featured full, bright blooms set in terracotta bowls, large-scale displays presented on gold geometric stands, and lush garlands accented by Topo Chico bottles acting as bud vases—a nod to the Bride's favorite drink. A 16-foot ceiling installation complete with pink and silver disco balls and a jaw-dropping arbor display were the focal points of the design.
custom printing
Hannah and Paul were apart for most of their relationship. They wanted to memorialize the transient nature of their dating relationship, so designer Laurel Fox created a cocktail napkin in the style of a map marking an airplane's journey to the major cities in which they spent time together. The journey ultimately ended in St. Louis–the place where their married life began.
Hannah and Paul wanted a non-traditional way to communicate key details about their day including the order of events, table assignments, and fun facts about their relationship. Designer Laurel Fox created a 20-page wedding magazine that was placed at each guest's seat at the ceremony. The magazine featured their engagement story, seating arrangements, ceremony, and reception schedules, fun information about their wedding party, and even "wedding advice" from Hannah's third-grade students.
the dessert
The wedding cake was a petite, heart-shaped cake frosted in pink, orange, and yellow buttercream and adorned with edible pearls and mini disco balls. A custom pink cake plinth was the perfect feature table for this statement piece.
