From the Bride:As a girl, I dreamed about my wedding for years, and then when I began working the wedding industry I dreamed about it even more. I was inspired by every wedding I worked on and all the lovely wedding photos that came across my desk. I put a lot of pressure on myself after my engagement....I had to have the most gorgeous and perfect wedding to date. I started 50 Pinterest boards and cut out at least 500 photos from magazines...and then my life changed more than I could ever imagine.
My beloved, young, precious mom passed away. I felt more pain than ever had in my life. There was a huge hole in my heart that would never go away. I moved my wedding date and took some time "off" and when I was ready, I started planning again, but this time with a new perspective on life. I wanted a wedding that focused on our guests and expressed how much my fiance and I truly cared for each of them.
We wanted them to feel loved. Life is too short to not take every moment to express that. We had heartfelt thank you notes sitting at each their dinner seats, we had special drinks waiting for them at their tables, we played songs that we knew our friends and family members loved, and we had a very special memorial table that was lit up all night by the bright smile of my mom in old photos.
My fiance and I were honored to have each and every person there celebrating our marriage with us. And we knew that at the end of the day, if the cake fell over, the dress ripped and the rains poured down, we would still accomplish what we set out to do... to marry the person we loved and adored, the person that made us better versions of ourselves, the person that we wanted to be with in all of life's biggest moments, the painful ones and the wonderful ones. And we would accomplish that surrounded by people we truly, deeply care for.
As opposed to a traditional guest book Allie and Justin had a piece of wood that guests could sign that would later be made into a picnic table. What a great idea .... right?

We love that Allie and Justin decide to make a a donation to the Scleroderma Foundation in lieu of wedding favors.

I would have hired a florist to do the reception flowers! In an effort to save money, I decided that my amazingly helpful bridesmaids and I would do the flowers for the reception the morning of the wedding. I had collected small vintage vases for months before the wedding and I thought since they could only hold a stem or two, it was definitely something I could manage. While, we had no problem placing a few sprigs in the vases, it was time consuming and an added stress I really didn't need.
