After attending our fair share of weddings, Dave and I often joked about what we didn’t want at our own wedding. We didn’t want any bright “pop” colors, we didn’t want a lengthy ceremony with a unity candle or butterfly release, and I didn’t want any feathers, sequins, or bows on my wedding dress. Needless to say, we had both witnessed a few disastrous ceremonies. As our own wedding planning process began, we quickly came to the realization that we needed to enlist a team of professionals to help guide us to the wedding of our dreams.
First on our wedding planning team was Andrea Guzman from LVL Events. We met Andrea after attending a wedding expo planned by LVL Events, and after our first meeting we knew she would be the perfect fit for us. After getting to know us as a couple, Andrea helped us better define our wedding vision. We were inspired by a neutral pallet, natural/organic elements, and a garden/rustic chic theme (but not country because Dave hates country). This led Andrea to introduce us to the perfect vendors, saving us lots of time and unnecessary stress.
In planning the little details of our big wedding, Dave and I wanted to be sure our guest felt the personal touches throughout. We designed our own save the dates and invitations, hand punched over 200 heart shaped brads into the announcements, made many of the treats on our dessert table from scratch, wrote our own vows, and had my brother ordained to perform the ceremony, which was a surprise to everyone except us.
Looking back at our wedding day, we are so grateful for all of the vendors that Andrea aligned to bring our vision to reality. Meg at The Little Branch captured our vision perfectly in our floral arrangements, bouquets, and centerpieces, Krista from One Love Photography gave us photos to cherish for a lifetime, and Town and Country rentals turned the cold cement walls of the Skirball Center into a warm, inviting, garden-style wedding venue. We are so thankful to have worked with such an amazing team of professionals who truly made our wedding, better than our dreams!
