Tink and Heather were introduced through a mutual friend that owns an equestrian facility in Northern Kentucky. That, combined with the fact that Heather has ridden horses since she was little, led to one conclusion; A pastel equestrian wedding!
One of the most unique equestrian aspects comes in the form of a little horse made out of moss. The horse-play doesnt end there: horse figurines decorate the centerpieces and trophies double as vases. See more darling details in the full gallery here, photographed by Nina & Wes Photography.
Not only did the facility offer the equestrian theme the only date available was the same date of our first date and the day Tink asked me to marry him – April 5th, but the facility was available for the whole weekend and both families stayed for a wonderful relaxed wedding weekend. The venue allowed for us to have the rehearsal dinner, breakfast for the wedding party, ceremony and reception as well as the wedding party staying on site. Amanda the coordinator at Ashley Inn along with staff did everything to make the weekend perfect.
Lauren, my sister, knows me like a book so I just let her do all the designing and I am so blessed that Lauren worked with Revelry Vintage Event Planners from Burlington, Kentucky. The girls were a joy to work with! They made a Sweet Tea Party favor for each guest. The boxes contained tea bags, sugar cubes, recipe for sweet tea and wrapped in a pastel green ribbon. Bonnie Dowler owner of Stems LLC in Lexington, Kentucky worked with Revelry and created beautiful, elegant flower arrangements. Bonnie researched and created a moss horse with a spray of flowers for a wonderful compliment to the equestrian theme.
If there was one thing I would have done different would be to have another dress to wear later that evening. It would just have been something simple just so I knew I had the option. I loved my dress but I just wish I had that option at the end of the night! One thing I would love to add is to tell the brides is to cherish every moment of planning your wedding! I had a blast with my Mom and Sister and enjoyed every moment and never let myself get worked up because I knew every little thing would work out some way! I was so grateful to have all the help and support my family and couldn't have done it without them and just remember to thank your parents and family!!! I can only hope to do the same for my daughter one day!
