Wedding photographer of Josephine Courage & Dash Photography found inspiration in opulent, romantic and religious imagery from the 18th and 19th centuries. She wanted to capture the feeling of decadence, and wanted a very floral-heavy vibe with ornate accessories.
She found a wedding venue, The Nutfield Priory. Dating back to 1872, Nutfield Priory is full of lovingly preserved features from the past. Step inside and you’ll find original stained glass windows and rich wood panelling. What’s more, you’ll be treated to views of the Surrey Hills that stretch as far as the eye can see. And when the celebrations are coming to a close, you and your guests can retire to one of our beautiful bedrooms for an unforgettable stay. An ideal setting for an opulent and romantic wedding.
This ornate and striking headpiece was designed by Clare Lloyd Accessories. She designs and creates beautiful, intricate and luxurious bridal accessories and jewelry entirely by hand in Frome, Somerset. See her Instagram here for more gorgeous pieces.
The stunning veil is from Sash + Veil. You can email her for advice on choosing your veil or bridal accessories. Just email her at [email protected]. You have to see this Petal Pink Veil, it is everything.
The gorgeous flat lay styling was Courage & Dash Collective on amazing hand-painted backdrops from JRD Artshop. The ultimate accessory to make your flat lays even prettier.
Florals were always a big part of the shoot plan, the mood-board was absolutely full of them. It was exactly Iris & Co’s style, wild and untamed, heavy, woven greenery and beautiful open flowers.
The color palette was full of rich tones, pinks, peaches, oranges and plums interwoven with gold and nestled in greenery. It was a very fun palette to work with as it meant using a lot of different flower species. The most prominent were the roses (so many types!), dahlias, carnations, ranunculus and the every beautiful cascading amaranths for that beautiful draping look.
Bowen & Dryden does not have the typical wedding dresses, these are unique pieces of art for the Bride that wants to be different. I am so in love with the Rebel Rose Collection. You really need to see these dresses. You're going to flip out.
The runner along the table was one of our Florist, Gemma’s, favorite designs, 12 ft of gorgeousness along the centre of the table. These designs are perfect for long trestle table wedding receptions as they look amazing as you walk into the room and everyone has something beautiful to look at the whole way down, with still enough room to chat and talk.
The planner and stylist, Idyllic Days Event Stylist, was captivated by the cloisters in the hotel dining room overlooking the grounds, and chose to set the table there. Working with the neutral tones in the space, the stylist, Sophie, chose the long wooden trestle table and cross back chairs, all fitting perfectly to create a cosy dining option for an intimate celebration. She added tall candles, delicate detailed chargers and pops of color all helped to create a swoon worthy tablescape.
Selecting the feature window within the chapel-like grand hall as a backdrop was top of the planner’s list. The dresser and lounge furniture arranged snugly in the window space created the perfect setting for the most delicious looking grazing style display, where the models could lounge and nibble on the sweet treats from Berry & Brie. I was losing my mind perusing their grazing tables. Which is a massive shift away from your usual beige Party Food, Sandwiches and Canapes. This social dining experience takes Catering to a whole new level by creating, celebrating and sharing beautiful food memories. Let's just say I was thoroughly impressed.
