Show stopper!! That is all we could think when we first laid eyes on Stacy and David's navy and pink chic desert wedding. Not only was Stacy rocking that fabulous navy Tara LaTour gown (which we drooled over for several minutes before we could focus on anything else) but the fabulous Arizona desert coupled with soft pink and ivory florals from The Flower Studio Inc complimented the whole event perfectly!
But seriously that dress! Stacy revealed how this bold choice came to be, keep scrolling to read more and then be sure to visit the full gallery where all the days photos from Amy and Jordan Photography are just waiting for you!
From the Bride: On my first outing to search for the one with my mom and MOH, I had it in my head from others that I had to wear white, so I bought a white dress. While it looked beautiful on, at every fitting with the seamstress I had a knot in my stomach. This wasn't the dress for me.
I came across a picture of the Tara LaTour dress and could not stop thinking about it. With some encouragement from my husband and MOH, I booked a flight by myself to Minneapolis where the designer is based, stepped into the dress, and finally experience that unexplainable, "This is the one!" moment. The coolest part was that Tara herself came to my appointment, and her team was able to make the dress for me with only 2 months left before the big day!
Hands down this was the best decision I made, I only wished I had made it sooner so I wouldn't have ended up with two dresses! The hardest part was keeping it a secret, as only my family and MOH knew, but it was so much fun seeing everyone's faces as I walked down the aisle!
FromĀ Amy and Jordan Photography: She wore a navy wedding dress! And it had POCKETS!!! It was sensational. Spectacular. Understated elegance at its best. At its finest. A bold choice and brave stroke on one hand, and the payoff that only comes with such a gamble on the other. Because it was more than a surprise to everyone from the bridesmaids to the guests and it paired perfectly with all of her blush florals and succulents. This wedding was a fashion grand slam. A Halloween trick that was such a treat for us to photograph! For our first October 31 wedding.
From the Bride: Truthfully, there's not a single thing I would have done differently, and I have to say it's because we stayed true to ourselves regarding every detail of the weekend. My advice to future brides is to do just that. There will be a lot of opinions along the way, and there are a lot of moving pieces during the planning process which can get overwhelming, but remember that ultimately this day is about you and your significant other, and it should reflect just that.
