It was a gorgeous day in California for Kelly and Jason’s naturally sophisticated wedding in green and white. The old Spanish style of the Villa and Vine was the perfect backdrop for their quintessential Santa Barbara wedding. Farm style tables with perfectly placed garlands and candlelight set a dreamy ambience for all their friends and family to enjoy!
Every detail came together flawlessly, and the bride was kinda enough to share more details from her special day below. Keep scrolling to read more about their gorgeous wedding plus find a gallery full of must-see images from Anna J Photography.
From the bride: When our wedding planner Ann Johnson showed us Villa and Vine, I knew immediately it would be the perfect place to have a quintessential Santa Barbara wedding, with its Spanish style white walls, expansive patio, crawling vines, citrus and olive trees, and ideal location on State Street. After a sunset ceremony at the picturesque Santa Barbara Courthouse, we headed to Villa and Vine just a few blocks away for cocktails, passed appetizers, and dinner, followed by an after party for more friends to join us.
Our wedding day was easily the best day of my life, and the most memorable moment was standing at the end of the aisle, with my dad by my side, looking at all our friends and family who were there to support us, and then seeing my sweet future husband waiting for me at the altar. We had our very best friend marry us, and that made it even more special.
I envisioned our wedding with lots of greenery, garland, herbs and olive branches, and in-season florals. My dear friend and florist Amy (Ambient Event Design) decorated the space more beautifully than I ever imagined, using in-season greenery including seeded Eucalyptus, dusty miller, olive, rosemary, and garden roses. We played off the Greek vibe of the restaurant with touches of white marble, including hand painted name tiles at each place setting, marble initials, and a marble board under the cake. Trying to plan a wedding on a budget was no easy task, especially in Santa Barbara.
My advice for brides: The night before our wedding day I chose to stay alone in the hotel we had booked for the weekend. We scheduled our rehearsal dinner on the earlier side, so I was able to get a good night's sleep. In the early morning I had an hour or two to be alone; I got a cup of coffee, went to the beach, and had time to reflect on how grateful I was to be marrying such an amazing man. Once the girls came over to get ready, the calmness and reflection was all over, LOL! I really recommend having time to reflect before the festivities begin.
