This wedding is all about a warm, inviting reception with simple, organic details that emphasized the bride and groom and the celebration of their love for each other. Their dear family friends had the perfect home for their vision with an open, airy feel, lovely backyard and the most beautiful decor throughout the interior.
Wood tables, organic floral arrangements, buffet style food and an assortment of homemade cakes further enhanced the intimate, natural feel that created an atmosphere for warm mingling and celebration. We knew that the details would create the overall feel of the reception, and thus incorporated organic simplicity throughout. The wedding favors were little bags of homemade granola made by the mother of the bride, with a lovely tag designed by our calligrapher to match the stunning invitation suite. Elegant wooden signs were also placed throughout the reception to label certain areas and further enhance the scene. The sweetheart table epitomized the romantic feel of the evening with chairs covered in greenery, a creamy silk and willow table runner and tons of candles to surround the bride and groom.
My biggest piece of advice... don't stress the small stuff (or the big stuff). Something will inevitably go wrong on your wedding day no matter how much planning, effort and love goes into the big day. For us... my husband got like deathly ill. Right before the ceremony he told me he didn't know if he was going to make it through. After our reception, we drove straight to the ER where we spent the next 4 hours. It sucked and I kind of cried a few times but we still tried to make the most of it. This is your day. It's about your love, your commitment and your lives together. You don't want to look back and regret getting pissed about some little mishap in the day.
