Garrett and Mac had their destination wedding at the Brevard Music Center in western North Carolina. The venue hosts numerous musical events throughout the year and is located on 180 acres nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Mac and Garrett traveled to Brevard during their college years to attend many concerts and fell in love with the scenery and small town culture of Brevard, NC. The couple met during college and love attending music festivals together—they even included their teardrop camper in their wedding send-off!
With the DIY tambourines, teardrop camper and outdoor musical setting the couple managed to incorporate elements unique to their relationship. Additionally there were other thoughtful details that speak to the couple’s strong family ties.
The groom rang an old dinner bell before the reception began in honor of Mac’s grandfather who was unable to attend the wedding. As a child, Mac’s grandfather rang a bell before Sunday Dinners so that all the grandchildren would know that it was time to eat. The barn-like reception venue and string lights provided an inviting atmosphere for their guests and the reception layout featured long family-style tables to create the feeling of comfort and intimacy.
