Inspired by New York, specifically Brooklyn, this moody styled shoot is giving us all those edgy city kid vibes. From the black cake to the bridal jumpsuit, every detail pushes wedding conventions and gives them a sleek, modern update. For the color palette, they stuck to neutrals and deep de-saturated greens to keep with the big city theme. Pops of gold here and there added a touch of elegance and joy because it is a celebration after all! 

Ninnie & Dave Frost dreamed up this shoot after a recent trip to New York. They teamed up with Mariella Kurz Events, the designer and event planner, and Hochzeitsbutler, who is the genius behind these dramatic yet minimalist floral arrangements. Salotto 1828, the red brick venue, certainly does evoke the famous Brooklyn architecture. Ninnie & Dave Frost played up the contrast in these photos to give the whole shoot that moody feel while Nico Friedrichs captured every moment on video. BRINGING THE BIG APPLE TO BERLIN

After our visit to New York, we immediately fell in love and were infected by the ambiance and feeling, all the charm and diversity of this lively city. A special mixture of modern, and yet at the same time, with a touch of vintage and the glamor of the golden days. Red bricks, black cast iron, stairs and walls made of sandstone, and everything is very bold and edgy but not too playful, and, at the same time, clean and minimalistic. This is exactly the feeling and the look that we wanted to implement in a styled shoot for a long time.

A SPECIAL WATER CEREMONY

By chance, we met Melanie and Asafo, with whom we immediately became friends. They told us that, due to COVID, in January 2021 they could only get married alone in the registry office. The two got to know each other in New Zealand when Melanie was on vacation there. Shortly afterward, both of them went to Germany because of their love and also because Asafo was supposed to play here for the German national rugby team. After the wedding speaker heard about the small civil ceremony, she came up with the idea of ​​turning the styled shoot into a real and very intimate, and cozy wedding with a very special water ceremony.

A LITTLE OUTSIDE THE NORM

All local service providers were on fire for this styled shoot and the overall concept right from the start. Plain and simple, few but strong colors. The color concept of New York, like desaturated green, warm tones in red and brown, and the whole thing rounded up with black and golden accents. Thematically everything was just perfect, from the black and golden wedding cake to the black and white stationery and a cold sip of Brooklyn lager. To be honest, a normal wedding dress would not have matched the chic city look, so the loose jumpsuit was just the perfect fit. In the end, it was so nice to see Melanie and Asafo being happy and have brought them a wonderful memory.
