Erin and Garret's mutual love of travel played a pivotal role in their wedding planning process. Because both are incredibly active - Erin loves activities such as scuba diving, dancing, horseback riding, and fine dining, while Garret loves swimming, biking, surfing, backpacking, and scuba diving - it was an obvious choice to incorporate this action-adventure vibe into their big day. To this bride and groom, life is a journey full of adventures, and this wedding adventure was just one more stop along the way! Having your beloved pet with you on your special day not only means getting to choose the cutest pet formal wear, but it also means getting adorable and meaningful portraits that will last a lifetime. Another fun way to incorporate your pet into the day? A custom cake, such as the one at the bottom of this post courtesy of Mr & Mrs Creamery!
One key element of this wedding was the intentional blend of Eastern and Western elements to honor the couple's cultural roots as well as their current location. For the setup of the ceremony, they incorporated an old Chinese door as the backdrop for stunning floral design by Wenfloral Design Studio, symbolizing the start of their next exciting journey together. This same ancient Chinese door was later paired with a western chandelier at the reception to represent the blending of cultures.
Details throughout the wedding day were a nod to travel. Erin and Garret had a custom-made globe as their guest book, and guests were also asked to write down their blessings on a vintage postcard that was matched with a Polaroid photo and later "sent" to a mailbox next to the sign-in table. Their seating chart was based on a vintage world map, with table numbers that highlighted meaningful cities for the couple.

When it came to choosing how to lay out their reception, Erin and Garret had endless options. It's important to really think about where your focal point should be, where your dance floor will be, and what will create the best mixing and mingling throughout the evening. Erin and Garret opted for both round and rectangular tables laid out in a manner that allowed everyone to see the beautiful, floral-filled fountain, while still being able to chat amongst themselves and see the couple's first dance.
