the design: extravagant minimalism

elegant minimalist wedding inspiration

In this wedding editorial, we aimed to juxtapose modern elegance with historical charm in a chic representation of ‘old meets new’. We blended contemporary design with old British architecture to give a nod to the past while embracing modernity. For us, modernity signifies a break from traditional norms and an embrace of values that prioritize inclusivity and promote a circular economy. We worked with Junior from Zebedee Talent who is non-binary, neurodiverse, and a wheelchair user alongside a team of eco-conscious suppliers. Across all our design elements we channeled a minimalist, environmentally-friendly approach, from our wedding cake to Junior’s look and accessories. The final result was a cohesive, fresh, and sustainable wedding aesthetic.

For the tablescape, we styled a clean, sleek setting to contrast with the historical architecture. Grand Tudor-style chandeliers hung above raised, foam-free orchid arrangements, surrounded by a row of white Anthurium lilies provided by Lou Lou Event Design and Nuun Cakes. We styled the cake and menus with flowing chiffon and satin bows.

adaptive wedding fashion

We used sustainable and adaptive fashion to ensure ease of wear for each wardrobe choice. We opted for a mid-length, minimalist gown with clean lines to showcase fashion that is both practical and stylish. For Junior's makeup, we went for a 'barely there' effect on the eyes with a gold eyeshadow and soft, light eyelashes. This was finished with a gloss over their lips.

It's no secret that bows are trending, and they're a great affordable way to decorate. Instead of buying new fabric from a craft store, consider going to a thrift store and breathing new life into vintage silk scarfs for a more sustainable approach.

blurry wedding photography

Blurry bokeh photography is having a major moment and while we love showcasing detailed photos on the blog for you to pull inspiration from, we want to take a moment and talk about this trending style. Photos like this make great prints for the home. The blurry quality evokes more of a vibe than a specific moment and can bring a good mood to any space.
