A few words from the wedding planner Simone – Il Todisco:

Old stone building with ivy and floral decorations

When Irene Fucci got in touch asking me if I wanted to develop her concept and create a styled shoot together, I had no doubt. I had to jump in.  The aim of this project is to inspire couples looking for an authentic, rustic mood for their wedding mixed with elegant, ethereal, and minimalistic touches.

I thought about giving this project the name “Intrecci” (the Italian for “twine”) for two reasons:
1. The first is that I wish we will be soon able to intertwine our lives again and be free to hug and forget social distancing;

2. The second one is because of ears of wheat and their woven structures. We used them for all the floral arrangements, so they became a leitmotif of the entire shoot.

The location

Located in the middle of a small wood in northern Italy, the ancient mill “Mulino dell’Olio”, was built at the end of the XVIII century and then recently tastefully renovated by its present owners who preserved the original rustic chic atmosphere.

The Colour Palette + The Stationary

Botanical wedding place cards with pressed flowers

The colour palette is a mix of whites and neutral hues like light clay, pale straw yellow and sandy-earthy tones. The aim was to convey softness, brightness, refinement, and authenticity.

A combination of digital fonts and calligraphy elements was used to create the wedding suite. The invitation and save the date's handmade paper and the spatulate touches on the envelope add a tactile sensation to the entire stationery.

Flowers + The Bride

The table and ceremony decor was made mainly with dried flowers and leaves like Lunaria, fern and ear of wheat mixed with fresh flowers such as dahlia, scabiosa and anthurium. The bridal bouquet recalls the entire floral arrangement adding some strelitzia’s leaves and a silk ribbon for an extra touch.

The bride’s appearance is chic and ethereal. Her gown is a two-piece dress. The top is minimalistic and the skirt (tightened by an ash belt) soft and flowing. The make-up and hairstyle are all about freshness and naturalness. The only accessory that enriches the look is a golden, leaf hairpiece.

Cake + Table Details

The table is chic and minimal and has handmade, clean, geometric plates and vases alternating with soft, silky runners and handkerchiefs made in Italy. The cloves of garlic add a reference to Italian Cuisine.

The search for a minimalistic, rustic look continues with the cake. The final result is a two layers’ cake with a textured surface. The only décor is a tiny floral arrangement made with dried flowers.
