People might call Zac and Madilyn crazy for saying their “I dos” at the young age of nineteen, but these two inseparable love birds didn’t want to spend another waking moment without each other. Zac is currently serving in the US Army and stationed in Ft. Stewart, Georgia, which was the inspiration behind their navy and gold wedding. Held at Rancho Vista Sonora in the foothills of California, this wedding is brimming with darling DIY's that you definitely don't want to miss!
When you fall in love with all of the glimmer of this navy and gold wedding you can always find more in the full gallery here, beautifully captured by Erin Milnik Photography.
Since Zac chose to wear his Army Dress Blues, Madilyn thought it was fitting to choose Navy Blue and Metallic Gold as their wedding colors. Her color choice was based on how classy those colors look on Zac’s uniform and the rest of the theme just blossomed from there.
Zac and Madilyn used the Fly Away With Me Free Wedding Printable customized in their blue and gold color palette. Such an incredibly fitting choice for this fun and light-hearted wedding! View all of the designs available on our Free Printables page here.
From the Bride:Because coffee is such a huge deal for us and our engagement shoot was based around our love for coffee, we naturally added that into our big day in a few different ways. The first way was my mother (thanks mom!) tea stained coffee filters and creating all the flowers throughout the wedding. They looked beautiful and now I get the pleasure of having my bouquet forever. I think we literally spent $7 total on the flowers!
We spray painted everything metallic gold – from bottles, to frames, bowls, jars etc. and the gold looked so beautiful at our sunset wedding. Favorite part of my wedding? Our first look, hands down and the anticipation leading up to it. I also treasured our vows to each other… Since Zac had just gotten home from a four month training, our vows were so raw.
The second way we incorporated coffee into our special day was at our favor table which was a coffee bean bar (Thank you Junction Starbucks!) that our guest were able to fill bags and enjoy the love that is brewing.
Since their new home would be in Georgia they chose a variation of a southern bbq featuring pulled pork, beef brisket, slaw, mac n' cheese and of course peach cobbler! Everything they chose for their wedding meant something special to them, from their past on into this new chapter of their lives.
Advice on planning the big day? Pick a theme and stick to it! The more I saw (and pinned) on Pinterest, the more my theme got muddy. Pinterest is totally your friend, but remember to be you.
