the design: mid-century modern meets secret garden
Jess and Phil's wedding in August at Oakwood Gardens was a truly magical day. Set amidst the lush greenery and vibrant blooms, it was a celebration filled with elegance and joy. The reception, held under a stunning Sperry tent, was made even more beautiful by the breathtaking floral arrangements from Brier + Ivy. The floral artistry created a seamless flow between the outdoor gardens and the tent, where Natural Bentwood chairs and BBJ La Tavola linens set a sophisticated scene around the light oak and white checkered dance floor.
the fashion
When you see as many wedding gowns as we do, at some point they all start to blend together, so when we come across a dress that makes us stop in our tracks, we simply have to talk about it! For her big day, Jess selected a super unique tulle and lace A-line gown that complemented the whimsical garden theme and an intriguing satin underbust corset tied in the more minimalist elements from the wedding design. Phil kept it classic with a black tux but spiced things up with some velvet loafers.
good drinks and good food
Guests were welcomed into the garden with a refreshing Aperol Spritz, setting the stage for the couple’s heartfelt ceremony under the chuppah. After they exchanged vows, everyone enjoyed a picturesque stroll to cocktail hour in the enchanting white rose garden. The chic lounges from Great Jones NW were the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the couple’s signature drinks—Oregon Blackberry Bourbon Lemonade and a Lemon Thyme Vodka Cocktail.
Dinner was a delight, with Art of Catering serving herb-crusted rack of lamb and Wild Pacific Salmon, followed by a tempting selection of mini desserts for guests to enjoy between dance breaks.
matchbox favors
We love a favor that guests will actually use and these adorable matchboxes featuring doodles of the venue and their love story are the perfect example!
all about family
The evening was filled with heartwarming toasts from loved ones, followed by Jess and Phil’s first dance and special dances with their parents. A standout moment was when the lead singer surprised everyone with a soulful rendition of “What a Wonderful World,” reminiscent of Louis Armstrong. The tent was brimming with smiles and joy. As the sun set, the Oncore Band took over, filling the tent with energetic music that kept everyone dancing well into the night.
