A stylish Toronto Golf Club wedding, steeped in family history

Timeless bride and groom fashion

On an idyllic summer day, the Toronto Golf Club was a historic and sentimental setting for a long-awaited "second wedding" for Kate and Colin. While groom's family has a rich history of fond memories of the venue, spanning generations, the couple's event designer Ashley Pigott Events had a fabulous time infusing their own bold style into the classic formality of the club.

Keep reading to see the stunning handmade wedding fashion created by the bride's grandmother and all their swoon-worthy green and patterned reception details. All photography beautifully captured by 515 Photo Co.

Bespoke gowns, handmade by the bride's grandmother

Kate's grandmother, Loreta Bellisario, has dedicated her life to the art of dressmaking since first learning how to sew during her childhood in Italy. Loreta has designed all of the wedding gowns for all of the women in her family; crafting a classic and timeless gown with Kate included taking many trips to New York and Toronto for inspiration. We adore the imported French Chantilly lace as a focal point of this dress design!

Not only did the bride's grandmother create Kate's stunning dress - she also made seven other dresses for wedding guests, including the mother of the bride and maid of honor. We are blown away by the exquisite design!

Dapper groom waiting for first look

After meeting in business school when they were sat beside each other, Kate and Colin bonded over shared interests with the core of their connection being the impact and importance of their tight-knit families. After getting engaged in February of 2020, the uncertainty of the world led them to rearrange their "first wedding" plans to a New York City Hall elopement, followed by intimate micro-wedding; the swoon-worthy fall backyard gathering was planned by the couple's families and overlooked the Toronto skyline. While their closest family was able to attend, the couple knew that their dream "second wedding" would include everything the first couldn't - an impressive guest list, dancing, and lots of hugging!

A ceremony setting centered around family

For nearly a century, Toronto Golf Club has been a venue of special importance to the groom, Colin's, family - dating back to his great grandfather, Gerry Green, joining the club upon his return from World War I. The couple's ceremony honored their rich family history of celebrating milestones at the club with a gorgeous outdoor ceremony on the grounds, with four generations of family members in attendance.

The bride and groom were so joyous to bring all 215 of their guests together, as Colin's grandfather Jack and Kate's grandmother (and dress designer) Loreta co-officiated their ceremony. Jack is a well-beloved member of Toronto Golf Club, known for his immutable charm and wit, and shared memories of the club alongside timeless advice and love for the pair.
