Kathleen first met Alex on the streets of the University of Dayton. After telling him how cute he was, they ended up going their separate ways that summer, only to reconnect again their junior year. One thing led to another, and soon enough Alex was recruiting family members for his plans to propose. He blindfolded Kathleen one night to take her out to “dinner.” They ended up in Kathleen’s grandparent’s backyard surrounded by beautiful fall foliage. Alex proposed, and they spent the evening celebrating with family. The next morning, the couple hopped on a plane to Jamaica for a vacation to celebrate! Whether it be on the furniture of the venue or the interior of the wedding invitation envelopes from Lumaca Paper, vintage floral elements added that extra-special elegance as a foundation for the rest of the event.
Kathleen’s bridal look felt effortlessly chic, as she wore a fitted crepe gown with a draped low-back detail by Pronovias. Her elegant glam makeup was courtesy of Eigensee Artistry, while her hairstyle was a work of art by Denise Chesser of Beyoutiful Creations Bridal.

This Italian-inspired garden wedding was a midsummer night's dream
Kathleen and Alex’s wedding day emphasized Italian-inspired elegance for their outdoor wedding. Being sure to focus on celebrating their family and friends, a welcome champagne tower and violin serenade greeted guests. Together & Co. was able to provide delicious gourmet catering to complement the atmosphere already created by the champagne and violins, while The Suisse Shop Bakery closed the evening with a stunning cake design.
The reception was held at the Governor’s Residence and Heritage Garden, which included a stunning 1920's mansion and outdoor patio surrounded by greenery. Floral arrangements by Prema Designs with ivory and blush roses complimented the neutral decor, while sun umbrellas and parasols offered their delicate shade at the tables and for garden strolls.
A black and white checkered dance floor was set atop the brick patio, which encouraged guests to enjoy the garden-party ambiance and elegant outdoor lounge spaces. In hopes of offering their love and gratitude in the most personal way, the couple also chose to handwrite notes at each place setting for over two hundred of their guests! It was a truly unique touch that guests were able to take with them as memories of this special day.
