Surprises kept coming at this glamping wedding in Zion National Park
Elizabeth and Karl met at the University of Richmond law school and got engaged during one of their spring breaks at the top of Gros Piton in St. Lucia. They chose to get married in Zion National Park because they had been to seven national parks together, but neither had been to Zion. They wanted to do an intimate 30-person wedding with their closest family and friends who attended from all over: Germany, Sweden, Florida, New Orleans, Virginia, Maryland, Colorado, and North Carolina. Keep scrolling to see how this luxury glamping wedding came together with the help of Sunrae Planning and captured on camera by Emily Dawn Photo.
Wedding weekend glamping
For the wedding event, everyone stayed in luxury tents at Under Canvas - it was absolutely perfect!
Surprise bridesmaid dresses
To get ready, the bridesmaids wore matching Juicy Couture before changing into Mac Duggal for the event. The bride chose a different dress for each bridesmaid and surprised them with it!
Designer dresses ultimately donated
To get ready, Elizabeth had a custom pair of bedazzled Nikes. She wore Jimmy Choo (purse and shoes) and the Naomi dress by Anne Barge. She had loved this particular designer since high school and knew she had to wear her for her big day. She did, however, change into a long, sparkly dress from Lucky Knot in Alexandria when it came time to party at the reception! To give back after the wedding, Elizabeth donated her dresses to a charity for children who couldn't otherwise afford prom dresses.
Vows made up on the spot
The wedding ceremony took place on top of a steep incline, so the staff took everyone up in golf carts. At the ceremony, the bride and groom made up their vows on the spot! They both attested that as future lawyers, it was a skill they both valued.

An honorary coconut cake
At the reception, the couple had a coconut cake from CBJ & Company to honor the bride's late grandmother. The cake was adorned with a spiraling accent of deep red and orange flowers that complemented the golden hour lighting when the cake was cut.
