A Twist On The Traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony
The couple kicked off their nuptials with a Cha Dao, a traditional Chinese tea ceremony to honor their family heritage. For the occasion, Diyi wore an elaborate ivory and blush Qun Kwa adorned with pearls, beads, and embroidered songbirds. She wore a matching hairpiece and carried a jeweled silk fan featuring the auspicious characters for double happiness. Ran sported a long Tang suit of navy, gold, and ivory with embroidered dragons for good fortune. In customary fashion, the couple met to kneel before their parents and offer tea in exchange for Hong Bao, red envelopes with lucky money enclosed.
Diyi looked like a bona fide princess in an exquisite pale blue gown by The Atelier with layers of ruffles and bejeweled webbing to match her veil.
She paired the look with crystal-studded Jimmy Choo shoes that were inspired by Cinderella's glass slippers.
Ran played the part of Prince Charming beautifully in a tailored double-breasted gray Dior suit with an interesting button detail on the lapel. The groomsmen wore black suits that really made his look pop. The bridesmaids wore mix-and-match cool gray satin dresses that were the perfect complement to Diyi's blue gown.
The next day, Diyi and Ran tied the knot in a Western ceremony and reception. Envisioning a wedding that transported guests to a meticulously laid out English garden, their wedding day was all about flowers, flowers, and more flowers!
A long white aisle stretched across the perfectly manicured lawn with topiaries and fountains as their backdrop. Diyi arrived in true Cinderella style, in a horse-drawn carriage. The drone photography by Yun Li Photography of her walking down the aisle in THAT DRESS is #GOALS. The two exchanged vows in front of their family and friends framed by a stunning inverted peony arch created by Yours Truly Flowers NYC.
After saying “I do” in front of the castle’s manicured gardens, the newlyweds and their guests transitioned to an indoor reception space, which also featured coral charm peonies paired with soft pink and blue flowers and matching taper candles to complement the bride’s dress. Simple yet full of joy, Diyi and Ran’s wedding was like a romantic oil painting come to life.
