Caitlin never really thought about planning her wedding until college. She created a Pinterest full of ideas, but the board was all super targeted to the boho trend. When she went wedding dress shopping, however, she actually fell in love with a ballgown that she ended up choosing! It was designed by Sassi Holford, a British designer who made the dress for Princess Anne’s son’s bride for their royal wedding. She felt like a princess herself in it, and from that point on, she knew the boho vibes weren't for her. After she found the dress, she decided to create a new inspiration board from scratch - on her apartment wall! What was most important? That their wedding really reflected who they were as a couple.
Through her research, Caitlin found she was drawn to antique furniture, which was perfect because she and Daniel love to go antique shopping together! She also focused on special invitation suites, since she and Daniel also love writing letters to each other. Along the way, Caitlin also fell in love with chinoiserie and French toile. It was the perfect element to give everything that vintage touch without being rustic - it was timeless! The goal ended up being romantic, classic vintage vibes, and they incorporated that throughout every aspect. Another very intentional choice was the food and how the couple had food served. They love brunch, especially with their friends! Because of this, they chose to do a plated meal with brunch food options and donuts.
The venue had a lot of exposed brick and neutrals like tan and brown, so the bride knew she had to choose colors that complemented that base palette. She was especially drawn to dusty pink and light blue. The importance of these color choices went all the way through to the flatware, with the bride using gold flatware, plates, candlesticks, and stands. The groom chose a light pink suit, while the bride's father chose light blue. Both ties and pocket squares had the French toile look, and the same French toile was woven throughout the day through details including the napkins.

For their wedding cake, the bride wanted something really unique. They ended up going with raspberry champagne and strawberry filling. It tasted so fresh and light, and went perfectly with the brunch food! Brandy with The Icing and the Cake did an amazing job with the cake's floral design and matching the wedding color palette. Daniel’s mom handled the groom’s cake, arranging for one with the design of one of Daniel's favorite soccer teams: the Wolverhampton Wanderers. The donuts, however, were what the couple was most adamant about! Neither of them wanted to chance the donuts being stale, so they thought back to a donut festival they attended, and called State Fair Mini Donuts of NC to bring a machine so the donuts could be made fresh. They came in little bags and guests were able to pick what flavor they wanted!
The bride's favorite memory was walking down the aisle. "Daniel and I love the song "Love Someone" by Lukas Graham. Daniel really wanted it played at the wedding, but I had told him it didn’t match the vibe. I really wanted to find a way to incorporate it, though, and had found a string quartet cover of the song on YouTube. Our DJ found a way to play it, and I surprised Daniel, which turned into a moment that felt so magical and special for us." Daniel's favorite moment was right after the ceremony and pictures when they could just sit and soak in the moment. He shared, "The entire day is so chaotic, and the quiet moments were the ones that meant the most."
The groom's advice? Try to prioritize! "Everything seems so urgent and important, but try to focus on and prioritize the things that you’ll remember five or ten years in the future." The bride shared that her advice would be to "really think if you want something or not. Prioritize what you want and not what everybody else does. Cut out things you don’t care about! There are all these things that you feel like you have to do, but if it’s your day, you should have one that represents you."
