The entire wedding was buried deep in a Laguna Beach canyon with deer roaming the grounds. Once the sun set behind the hills the soft light seemed to glow in the canyon setting the stage for some special imagery. This was also one of those rare weddings where all the different kinds of independent vendors came together to make a good team.
This was one of my favorite weddings to date. Besides working with such a great couple, the rustic outdoor DIY feel was very striking. From the groomsmen's suspenders and uniquely colorful bow ties to the early 20th century reception decor it was a grand spectacle. Each table had unique centerpieces consisting of old vases, mason jars, tea pots and lanterns. Old books and skeleton keys littered the empty spaces. When you put this kind of effort into your wedding day you get great results.
If I had to pick one thing that I wish I would have done different, it would be to have had the rehearsal of the ceremony at the same time ( and exact location) as the wedding would take place, just to make certain tweaks. During our wedding the sun was directly in my eyes and my bridesmaids eyes, which made us have squinty-eyed pictures. And the guys were the ones with sunglasses on, go figure!!
