A real-life wedding example of how to handle rain on your big day

lakefront Lake Tahoe wedding ceremony

Julia and Ty exchanged vows at their dream destination wedding on the 17th hole of Edgewood Lake Tahoe Resort. After pouring for hours leading up to the ceremony, the clouds ultimately parted for Julia to walk down the aisle for their private vows before a golden hour photoshoot. The rain even made the clear reception tent that much more beautiful! Planned with the help of SSY Events and captured on camera by Raquel King Photography, the best-of-the-best Lake Tahoe vendors helped make this day over-the-top incredible.

Details inspired by nature

For their ceremony, Julia and Ty opted for timeless black and white details that let the natural colors of the location shine.  Large white floral arrangements courtesy of Dreamweaver Florals included delicate pops of blue delphiniums that played off of the blue of the water.

Throughout the reception dainty blue details stood out against the otherwise black and white decor that complemented the decor found earlier in the day at their ceremony.  Guests dined and danced under a clear tent accented with blush draping that created a warm ambiance from sunup to sundown.
