I wanted to plan a styled shoot to reflect the kind of weddings I want Marla Manes Photography to be all about– beautiful and bohemian, elegant, but above all, focused on the couple's love for each other.
I reached out to local vendors whose work I admire and enlisted the help of Gina Marie Events to help me bring my vision together. Her coordination of all of the moving pieces was like magic to me; confirming details with the rental companies and calligrapher, securing gorgeous wedding attire from The White Magnolia bridal boutique and Ted Barry Tuxedos, and finding our star florist, Sarandipity Floral. We worked together to scout locations all over South Florida, trying to find the perfect park to host our shoot, but nothing felt right to us. In the end, Gina found Lady Jean Ranch, and we were both thrilled to work with the wonderful ladies there!
Lady Jean Ranch had just recently opened right before the pandemic hit and brought their business to a stand-still, but was a lucky find. It’s a stunning converted ranch venue complete with acres of land, beautiful, friendly horses, and a huge event space where the stables used to be.
One of the final pieces to come together was finding Jamiee and Matt to model for me as practice for their real wedding that would follow in just a few months! Young and head over heels for each other, these two laughed throughout our whole day together, and were such a joy to photograph!
To start us off, I photographed our incredible details– the stationary by Devine Design Co., the tablescape by Table Of Love, the perfect table runner from Emmas Attic Store– and peeked into the spacious white bridal suite to watch Gizella of Gem Makeup Artistry & Hair work her magic. Once we snapped some getting-ready photos of each model in their respective suite, we got to work on the fun part!
The rest of the day flew by as we golf-carted around the property, enjoying our time with Blondie the horse, exploring the different spaces available to us at Lady Jean Ranch, and posing with the beautiful arbor and furniture provided by Glam Touch Rentals. Our team worked together flawlessly, and it was such a joy to come together to create this elevated, beautiful bohemian wedding.
