There is something so magical about an adventurous elopement in the Teton Mountains of Jackson Hole, Wyoming! Rachel and Clay decided that their elopement was going to embody everything that their love does: adventure, intimacy, and beauty. Having both been previously married, Rachel and Clay wanted to focus on making their elopement ceremony as true to their relationship as possible. Because, after all, they had done this once already! This time, with a love so pure, they wanted to make it really special. So, they ditched the notion of a conventional wedding and decided to head to one of their most beloved locations, The Grand Teton Mountains!
Rachel hired Foxtails Photography and Elope Jackson to create a stress free, fun, and adventurous elopement. If you're going to to a destination elopement (especially around national parks), it is so important to hire local vendors that know the area and can connect you with quality vendors. This way your wedding day has professionals who know the area, regulations, and can make certain your day is smooth and stress free.
The Tetons are one of my favorite locations to photograph, because of their iconic, wild, and whimsical backdrop. As a Jackson Hole Wedding photographer who specializes in capturing the most gorgeous locations in Wyoming, shooting this wedding was so exciting for me because Rachel and Clay were open to going anywhere! There is something so breathtaking about witnessing an elopement like Rachel and Clay’s. When a couples wedding day is not filled with the chaos of family or friends and being pulled in so many directions, you have the ability to focus on your partner. This is exactly what made Rachel and Clay’s elopement so unforgettable. If you are a couples who craves a day all about intimacy and adventure, I would absolutely recommend a Jackson Hole Elopement under the Grand Tetons.
Rachel and Clay spoke their vows at Schwabachers Landing. Schwabachers Landing is actually a top wedding and elopement location in Grand Teton National Park. It is especially wonderful for couples who want to have a beautiful ceremony location that is easily accessible. The reflection of the Tetons on the water is absolutely breathtaking! Due to the fires blazing across California, Washington and Montana, it was one of the smokiest autumns Wyoming has ever seen. But, as the smoke and haze settled around Grand Tetons, it made for a gorgeous backdrop for a luxurious adventure elopement! With the smoky haze surrounding the Tetons creating a mystical and dreamy atmosphere.
After their intimate ceremony in Grand Teton National Park, they shared their first kiss as husband and wife before we headed off for adventure photos! For any Grand Teton National Park wedding or elopement, I like to stop at several locations after the ceremony. Then the couple has multiple options to choose from for their elopement photos and with the Grand Tetons having such a variety of lookouts, it is important to capture it all!
We first made our way over to one of my favorite spots, Cascade Canyon. The view here is absolutely beautiful and at sunset it is the most magical location. From the fields of sage and wildflowers, and the way sunlight filters through the valleys and canyons at sunset, it is invigorating.
Next, was the Moulton barns: A Jackson Hole classic! These barns are known across the world and a hot destination for photos. Many travel from all over to photograph with the Tetons peaking from behind. The rustic Moulton barns captivate couples with their history and iconic western vibes. Naturally, these give a gorgeous, western ambience to any wedding or elopement photos!
Lastly, We headed over towards Jenny Lake where the sun shines through the Teton range. Making the lake glisten with sunset reflections and gold hues. While each elopement or wedding is different and we choose special locations for each couples, this is often another favorite. It is a beautiful drive into Grand Teton National Park with wildlife along the drive and a fun little breather for couples to chat and wind down for for the evening.
During the prime months of the pandemic, for most brides, it wasn’t even an option to try on wedding dresses in-person. Rachel decided to order several dresses online and have them shipped to her home to try on. The ultimate winner was a gorgeous dress from Nordstroms! It was easy to pack and because of the gorgeous, forgiving fabric, Rachel didn’t have to worry about it wrinkling. The way the skirt captured movement made her look enchanting with the Grand Teton backdrop. She also wore hiking boots under the long skirt of her dress. (This is something I also recommend to my adventure elopement couples). Clay’s gorgeous attire was a version of a tuxedo that I have never seen before. The fabric of his tuxedo was soft and flexible and the style was elegant! It was perfect for a Grand Teton destination wedding. He complimented this with his Rolex watch and black leather dress shoes, his entire ensemble was fabulous!
