Elegant Ivory and Gold Wedding in Fairfield Connecticut

Happy bride and groom on their wedding day outdoors

Since the weather in March, April, and May can be a bit temperamental, planning a  spring wedding can be a bit tricky. Luckily Zach and Hope were blessed with sunshine for their May wedding.
Their celebration was filled with lovely touching moments, from being married by the bride's father to the love letters they sent each other that morning. The decor was also equally as beautiful! Don't miss out on some ridiculously cute glittering escort card floral bottles, scroll down! See even more of the ivory and gold wedding loveliness in the full gallery here, captured by Joanna Fisher Photography.

Words from The Vendors

We had been seeing predictions of rain all week, so when the big day came and there was nothing but bright blue skies and warm sunshine, there was a collective jump (and squeal) for joy! While the finishing touches were being made to the hair and makeup for the bride and her maids, a letter was delivered to the bride from her soon-to-be husband. The letter, a promise from husband to wife, was read aloud amidst laughter and tears, and everyone toasted to the happy couple and the celebration that was only just beginning.

The ceremony was held at Green Hill Congregational Church in Fairfield, Connecticut, and was presided over by the bride's own father and great-grandfather. It was simple, and sweet, and with their first kiss, the American Authors came over the sound system with the song "Best Day of My Life" - it was the sweetest, happiest processional I've ever seen! Following the ceremony, guests made their way to the Historic Burr Homestead, also in Fairfield, and were greeted with mason-jar iced tea and lemonade to begin cocktail hour.

Sassafras Vintage Rentals provided the incredibly elegant seating for the lounge area, where guests were encouraged to relax before dinner was served. The mantle sparkled with the gilded initials of the bride and groom, photographs from the couple's engagement session by Joanna Fisher Photography were displayed, and the hearth was lit with an array of candles. You can see all the prettiness in the full gallery here.

The Bride and Groom were announced, and the party began! Following dinner, desserts by Sweet and Simple were served in the Bride's colors of pink and gold, and the cake was revealed! At the end of the evening guests were invited to grab a sparkler and send off the happy couple, wishing them many many years to come!

Words from The Bride

I wish I waited to buy decor until a month or two before my wedding. I started purchasing and spent hours making decor right when I got engaged because of the initial excitement, but as my engagement and planning process went on, my ideas and theme changed. I ended up wasting hundreds of dollars on decor I never used. My Budget: I honestly can't remember the break down! It cost me about 32,000 though in total.
