This Italy vineyard rustic wedding was captured by Rossini Photography in the splendid region of Umbria, in Italy. The groom, Stefano, is the owner of a fancy wine shop in Rome, and Paola, the bride, is an architect who loves sipping a glass of good wine while reading a book on her sofa like nothing else in the world! When planning their wedding, needless to say that they’ve always dreamed of celebrating it in a vineyard, and the Italian countryside offers so many options. They finally chose Orvieto, in Umbria, which seemed the perfect solution: on one hand they had the opportunity to get married in the magnificent cathedral which towers over the ancient medieval town, on the other hand they found the perfect venue for the reception, Decugnano dei Barbi, which is a well known vineyard producing excellent local white and red wines.
Not only, Decugnano dei Barbi is a proper “agriturismo”, a farm which reserves part of its space and activities to work as a hotel. The Agriturismi are becoming very popular because they are the most authentic way to experience the countryside: you live in a farm, you enjoy the place, you can attend one of the many activities (such as hiking, biking, horse-riding, cooking lessons, etc.), you eat meals prepared with ingredients grown within the same farm. These places are so nice, and are getting so well organized, that in the very last years they have started to attract weddings. Which is brilliant. Sure, the food won’t be the luxury one you can be used to see at these events, but it’s genuine, local and innerly tasteful. And when the place is in such a beautiful and uncontaminated area as the countryside surrounding Orvieto, then the experience is superb. Decugnano dei Barbi rises on top of a hill overlooking the beautiful surrounding countryside, and has an amazing grass patio with a large swimming pool where to chill out.
On the wedding day everything was perfect, the bride looked stunning in her tailored made dress by Angelo, a family friend. The event design and tableu de marriage where carefully thought by the Roman wedding planner Laura Serventi, the wedding theme colors being lilac, green and white. The floral design was taken care by a local flower shop, L’Erbavoglio, who decorated the tables with natural herbs and spices. The guests enjoyed a meal of biological food done expressively by the restaurant of the farm, Decugnano dei Barbi. Local typical dishes, from excellent cheese and ham tastings, to spaghetti all’amatriciana, were served accompanied by local red and white wines produced in the farm’s vineyard.
