When their initial plan for an elegant wedding in neutral tones for 125 guests fell through thanks to 2020, this couple decided to ditch the soft color palette and amp up the color, which is a trend we are seeing more and more of lately. Many couples are so thankful to be able to celebrate their marriage with their friends and family (FINALLY) that they want it to be over-the-top fun–and that means COLOR and a lot of it! For their updated wedding vision, they went with bright Mediterranean colors like orange, royal blue, red, and aqua. They also had more time on their hands because of the extended planning process, so they were able to incorporate a lot of heartfelt, meaningful details.

Victoria Ann Events worked with them to plan their wedding and helped them create a design with intention. Mi Florita created these beautiful, bright floral arrangements, including the epic ceremony arch that was draped in the most beautiful magenta blooms and plenty of greenery. A private estate was the perfect outdoor venue for this intimate micro-wedding. Mandee Johnson Photography made sure to capture all of the special details along with the touching moments between the couple and their closest friends and family. The couple asked Leira Productions to film their big day as well so that they have both photos and videos to look back on for years to come. You can see all of the photos from this wedding in the full gallery. Keep scrolling to read more from Mandee Johnson and the bride about how everything came together.
Tavi and Tom originally planned a soft garden wedding with muted tones of blues and purples and sages for May of 2020. When they had to postpone their plans and go from a guest list of 125 to 10, the couple realized that they wanted it to feel like a burst of celebration and color, even though it would be a much smaller event. They were directly inspired by their love of Mediterranean architecture and color schemes. Each detail was intentional, with all of the design elements having some type of meaning to the pair's heritage or relationship. Tom was born in Israel, to Colombian and Argentinian parents, and Tavi was born in Romania, so their families are international and they highlighted their pride in that during the ceremony and design and gifting details.
The stand-out detail was the vibrant backdrop, designed and painted by Tavi’s artist mother. For each guest, Tavi hand-painted a gift box, full of personal gifts alluding to the couple’s love story. Even Tavi’s dress had meaning, with the gown from BHLDN she fell in love with being named Octavia, Tavi’s full name. A favorite detail of the couple was the twinkle light canopy, something that originally wasn’t in the budget with their originally planned wedding that was a must-have with their new venue and smaller reception.
Tavi's best piece of advice for those currently planning? "Enjoy the engagement time! It's easy to get wrapped up in logistics, details, and big financial decisions which obviously lead to anxiety and stress. But remember that the engagement time is special too! You get to call someone your "fiance", you get to plan an event together (which you should be doing it together!) and be excited together, and soak it all in. Go on dates or small trips when/if you can. Listen to the other person's wants and opinions, even if you disagree, and especially if they don't have many requests."
