Industrial Wedding With Pink And Peach Accents

This wedding integrated peach and pink tones with the industrial feel of the venue creating an extraordinary event. Sentimental details were incorporated into the decor through DIY projects created with help from friends of the bride. The entire event was catered by the bride's super cute food truck Nom Nom Truck.

From the Bride:If there was one thing I could do differently, I would have had my mom in the morning getting ready. Makeup and hair seemed like an afterthought with all the rushing and buzzing throughout the day. Having her on the quieter moments would have calmed nerves and an opportunity for reflection.

Stephan proposed in Paris at the Pont des Arts Bridge with a lock and key in tow. To recreate the enchantment of that night, I was inspired to collect keys and pretty French details throughout our wedding. We added a vintage lock to my bouquet, the original key to Stephan’s boutonniere and keys under the little arch. It all brought our love home.

Our wedding and reception was held at Huron Substation, a beautiful and cool venue that made it feel so special and casual at the same time. We took some wedding photos a few minutes away at Union Station to evoke the romance of travel.

I had an absolute blast and loved working on all the fun details: Signs and movie posters printed on wood with our names and bridal party, centerpieces were made a few days before in my living room, succulents picked from my mom’s garden to go into the beautiful bouquets that Rooted Harmony made.

 My most important investments were photography and food.  If a venue allows you to bring in an outside caterer, do it! Working with smaller, local companies will have access to lots of amazing suppliers and will work with you individually!  Also remember to ask for a certificate of insurance for liability (and raging!).

On The Venue: Huron Substation is listed as Historic Cultural Monument #404 by the Los Angeles Cultural Heritage Commission as the Los Angeles Railway Huron Substation, the building was built in 1906 from a design by engineer Edward S. Cobb.  It is the second oldest surviving substation in the city which housed equipment to convert high-voltage electricity supplied by the Edison Company to the 600 volts current used by the L.A. Railways “Yellow Cars,” providing urban transportation for many years. A great place to host your Los Angeles industrial wedding.

I knew I wanted to cater my own wedding, so I planned and cooked up a variety of my favorite foods: honey grilled pork Vietnamese sandwiches, duck confit, mushroom pate crostini, tacos, L.A. style hot dogs (with my staff to assemble and execute!). I hired my friend Christophe, a maître ecailler, to shuck fresh oysters from a cart to our guests. La Maison Du Pain helped with all the decadent French pastries and made two giant macaroons with our initials instead of the traditional cake.

Nom Nom Truck is ran by the bride and her friend (Misa and Jen) and they serve "Banh Mi", or Vietnamese Sandwiches, and other Vietnamese-inspired dishes to West Los Angeles and the greater Los Angeles area. Their goal is to make everyone, their Nomsters, happy by serving fresh Vietnamese fare to the masses! How fun would it be to have the Nom Nom Truck at your wedding.
