Okay, even in my wildest dreams you would be unable to convince me that this Greek island Sifnos wedding is anything more than just that, a dream. Holy smokes this location is gorgeous! And with the vintage glowing lanterns that hung over the reception area and that candle lit lanterns that lined the wedding aisle and ringed the ceremony have my little romantic heart all a twitter! You really do need to see every last bit of this wedding, and thanks to Sotiris Tsakanikas and our full gallery you can!
There's so much beauty in the classics, and Laura & Hadi's graceful seaboard wedding in Sifnos was a surefire way to make me smile. The dreamlike quality of its whitewashed villages, sitting like pearls on flanking slopes corseted by terraced olive groves, rows of lush oleanders and almond trees offers breathtaking vistas to a spectrum of blues and earthy tones.
The couple's ceremony took place right next to Platis Gialos bay, at the picturesque Lazarou cove, where The 12 Events set up an elegant chiffon and muslin canopy decorated with cascading ivy and garden roses in all shades of blush and cream. Rows of white chairs were ampitheatrically placed in lieu of pews, adorned with delicate baby breath buds. The aisle was marked by statement Roman vases overflowing with lavish greenery and hydrangea blooms, while bespoke vintage patina lanterns complimented the natural granite setting.
A rustic lemonade and fruit stand, accented by decorative mirror touches, a white tree of life wooden piece, pint sized cabrillo vases with romantic roseate peonies, kept the couple's chic guests refreshed, right before the beautiful bride arrived in a 1970 Volvo Amazon sedan, escorted by her father and her dressed in pretty-pink maids of honor, all holding keira rose bouquets.
Laura & Had tied the knot in an atmosphere of utter bliss and a rain of rose petals, with their party following at the Lazarou bay restaurant. The venue decor reflected the couple's elegance, with pillow soft tones of moonseed blue and rose mist with timbres of greenery and cream. I loved capturing the relaxed chic vibes of white paper lanterns, small crystal teradrop chandelier pendants and dangling candle hurricane lamps, sweetly glowing as the changing light kissed the calm landscape around us, and the mellow sounds of the saxophone carried us all away.
