A true diamond in the rough. This intimately beautiful haven, boasting with history and vintage flair, is an unexpected oasis in the bustling city of Los Angeles. Marvimon House was originally built by an Italian race car driver in 1924 as one of LA’s first automobile showrooms. Now Marvimon serves as an L.A. super-loft. With a 7,000 square foot floor plan (4,000 sq ft interior + 3,000 sq ft vertical garden courtyard), what seems to appear as an intimate affair can actually be spread out comfortably across the lush and modern property with rooms to explore. The tranquillity of the garden courtyard at Marvimon, with succulent vertical plants, is a peaceful backdrop for ceremonies (and at night, hanging festival lights make the courtyard twinkle!). Brick walls add a touch of rustic sophistication and make for a great photo backdrop. And the richness of the purple flowers blend magically into this urban venue. Not to mention this venue is environmentally-friendly with open skylights that reduce energy usage.
Marvimon is conveniently located near Downtown Los Angeles. The proximity to downtown is great because there are a variety of hotels for guests to stay. It is also conveniently located off the freeway. When you enter into Marvimon, there is a concierge that checks people in. You feel like you are walking into a New York loft-style apartment. Right when you first walk in, you have a succulent wall where people mainly do their escort cards. It's funky and modern, but homey at the same time. The back patio is, in my opinion, the coolest spot. It's like a little oasis, you have this little patio that has a succulent wall and flowers in the middle of Downtown L.A. You would never know! And you don't need much decor there at all. There is also this exposed, open kitchen that's really neat. It's historic in a sense, but it doesn't look like something that's been completely re-done. Marvimon is modern but still has the atmosphere of this urban, hidden gem.
