There is not a wedding venue in San Francisco that is more timeless and honored than the Julia Morgan Ballroom at The Merchants Exchange. The 15th floor of the Merchants Exchange building has been host to presidents and movie stars and has been well known as the Grand Dame of San Francisco's social elite for more than a century. The gorgeous Beaux Arts style event space was designed by William Polk and its namesake Julia Morgan.
The gorgeously detailed "speak easy" motif of the lounge, bar, and ballroom on the 15th floor are in vast juxtaposition of the grand marble, gold, and glass palace that welcomes your guests upon arrival. Although many couples choose to pair a Julia Morgan reception with a Cathedral style ceremony, the ground floor of the Merchants Exchange is completely stunning as the backdrop for your ceremony.
The barrel-vaulted ceiling is adorned with inlaid tiles, gold filigree, and etched glass. The skylight and the grand paned window let in the perfect amount of natural filtered light giving the space a very etherial feel. I love the heirloom glamor shot of the couple kissing under the clock - time really will stand still as you enjoy the moment you say 'I do' at this time-honored location.
