From the Brides:I met Amanda unexpectedly at the hardware store I shopped at while extensively remodeling my newly purchased property. Although few words were exchanged the first time our eyes met, Amanda and I later reconnected through social media. Like any young couple interested in one another, we dated, introduced each other to our families and friends, and fell madly in love with each other. Despite social, state, religious, or political opinions, which often plague relationships similar to ours, we fought hard for each other to allow our love to flourish.
How Do I Love Thee, Let Me Count The Ways:We showcased a love letter wine box ritual during the ceremony. With this, we included one bottle of wine, two letters written by each other on the eve of our wedding, and the vows we read to each other on our wedding day. Each letter was to be directed towards our partner, and contained our current emotions towards our wedding day, what we both hope to accomplish in sharing our lives together, and what we wanted each other to know if we were ever to come across a road block in the relationship. While the wine box was nailed shut on the day of our wedding ceremony, we each committed to reopening the wine box on the evening of our 5th year wedding anniversary. As we celebrate and reminisce the day our lives and love became one, we recommit to each other by re-inserting two newly written letters, a fresh bottle of wine, and re-sealing the box for another chosen set of years.
The truth is, through the ups and downs of our wedding planning, it came so beautifully together because of those that had become involved. It was their passion, ideas, and commitment that pulled it all together for us. From taking photos galore, to having our first look, walking down the aisle, exchanging rings, our first dance (I Won't Give Up- by Jason Mraz), speeches, cake cutting, and long anticipated open floor dancing, it all genuinely blew our expectations. We had more then our dream wedding... ultimately we created, strengthened, and formally untied a lasting partnership.
From Claudette Montero:When the wedding planner contacted us, one of the most important thing to them as a same-sex couple was that their photographer was 100% LGBT friendly. When we met with Angelica & Amanda in Miami and then saw the location with really cool spots for outdoor photos we knew that would be fabulous. It is always so touching for me to shoot same-sex weddings in Miami. We loved working with this couple and had an awesome time taking pictures on their wedding day.
